Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa (born 22 December 1960), also styled as Majaliwa, Kassim Majaliwa;[1] is a Tanzanian CCM politician who has been Prime Minister of Tanzania since 2015. He has been a Member of Parliament for Ruangwa constituency since 2010. On 19 November 2015, he was appointed as Prime Minister by President John Magufuli.[2]
Life and career
Majaliwa served the government at numerous posts from being a teacher posted in Lindi in 1984 to heading Urambo as the District Commissioner from 2006 to 2010. He was elected to Parliament in 2010 and served as Deputy Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office for Regional Administration and Local Government from 2010 to 2015.[3]
After John Magufuli was sworn in as President of Tanzania, he appointed Majaliwa as Prime Minister on 19 November 2015.[2] Majaliwa was sworn in on 20 November.[4]
