Major League Futsal USA is Americas First Professional Futsal league. Founded in 2012 by Rosario Lopez[1] on the principles of an open league model featuring promotion and relegation under the USFF (United States Futsal Federation) and U.S. Soccer and adhering to FIFA Futsal rules[2] Major League Futsal[3] is currently the only professional futsal league directly affiliated with U.S. Futsal and U.S. Soccer[4] giving it the platform to engage in CONCACAF and other prestigious international events as a representative of the United States.

About Futsal

Futsal is a variant of association football that is played on a smaller field and mainly played indoors. It can be considered a version of five-a-side football. Its name comes from the Portuguese Futebol de salão, which can be translated as "room football". It originated from Uruguay in 1930.

According to FIFA and UEFA research, Futsal is the fastest growing indoor sport in the world. Its development in Asia and Europe are most notable with large increases in players, both professional and amateur, including youth, also seen in Africa and North America.
