Malcolm "Mal" Dixon is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s and '70s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, England, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Featherstone Rovers, as a Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.

Playing career

International honours

Mal Dixon won a cap for England while at Featherstone in 1970 against Wales,[1] and won caps for Great Britain while at Featherstone in 1962 against France, and in 1964 against France.[2]

County Cup final appearances

Mal Dixon played Right-Prop, i.e. number 10, in Featherstone Rovers' 15-14 victory over Hull in the 1959 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1959–60 season at Headingley, Leeds on Saturday 31 October 1959, played Right-Prop in Featherstone Rovers' 0-10 defeat by Halifax in the 1963 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1963–64 season at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 2 November 1963, and played Left-Prop, i.e. number 8, in the 12-25 defeat by Hull Kingston Rovers in the 1966 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1966–67 season at Headingley, Leeds on Saturday 15 October 1966.
