Malikpur is a village in Gujrat District, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is situated about 9.2 kilometres (5.7 mi) from main city of Gujrat. In the past it was the part of UC Deona, but in 1996 it was the part of UC Sabowal, from 1999 once again it is the part of UC Deona. The majority of the people of Malikpur belong to the Gujjar caste, but there are other castes including Maliks, Syeds and Butts. In the past the politics of the village was controlled by two families: Choudhery Sultan Ali known as CHOUDHARY Group and Choudhery Akbar Ali and Choudhary Ameer Dad known as KHATANA Group. After the death of Choudhery Bashir Ahmed Khatana, Choudhary Hassan Dad Family is the leader of the Khatana Group.Choudhary group lost a great leader after the death of chaudhary Najeeb ullah khan. Now these Days Choudhary Nasheed Akbar cousin of Choudhary Najeeb Ullah Khan leads Choudhary Group. Denda Group and Syed Group also play an effective role in politics of village.
