Mamun Mustafa (Bengali: মামুন মুস্তাফা; born July 3, 1971) is Bangladeshi Promising Poet and Essayist figure in Bengali culture.
Early life and education
Mamun Mustafa born July 3, 1971. His birthplace is Bagerhat district of Khulna division and his home town Magura district of the same division. His father's name Professor Ghulam Rasul and mother's name Hamida Rasul. He is the youngest child among two children of his parents. In early life Mamun Mustafa was student of Bagerhat Town School and he passed SSC at Government High School, Bagerhat. He also passed HSC at Bagerhat PC College. Then Mamun Mustafa has achieved BSS (hons) and MSS certificate in political science from Dhaka University.
Career
Mamun Mustafa started his career in a networking NGO in Dhaka. Then he has engaged with a communication and research based organization Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs as Program Coordinator (Media & Publication). In this field, he has experience in communication, training, community mobilization program, advocacy and partnership building with GO, NGOs and other donor agencies. He has skills in organizing programs and the advocacy and campaign activity program on different issues including HIV/AIDS. Design and produce BCC materials. Carry out BCC campaign, media planning and conveying appropriate messages to the specific target audiences. Planning, coordinating and production of television and radio spots and also prepare script of news, documentary, magazine programs, talk show, drama and other enter-educate programs.
Literary works
Mamun Mustafa is one of the prominent poet of 90's decades of Bangladeshi poetry. At first he wrote a drama Cholo Dorgay Jai when he read in class five. Afterwards, he is devoted to poems and then he is inspired by Bangladeshi noble poet and author Abubakar Siddique who is colleague and friend of poet's father. When Mamun Mustafa read in class eight, his some poems was published in Nabarun, Kishore Katha and Daily Barta that was published in Rajshahi. In 1994 his poem had been published in national daily Ajker Kagoj at first. From that time, poet Mamun Mustafa activates himself in Bengali literature.
The characteristics of his poem are loneliness of soul, nostalgia and indivisible effuse of time along with nature, love and emotion. His Last Poetry-book Shanobar O Haowa Ghuri claimed the nature, landscape, past memories and nostalgia specially which is dominant theme of his poetry.[1] Mamun Mustafa has written his maximum poems in free verse and Akhorbritto, the pattern of Bengali rhythmic style. Elegy of Seventy One (Ekattorer Elegy), patriotic Bengali Verses of Mamun Mustafa, is written in fully free verse This poetry-book focused on our liberation war which was based on the letters of freedom fighters.[2] Besides Mamun Mustafa used to write critics and essay regularly.
As per literary achievement, Mamun Mustafa visited different areas of home and abroad in several times. In this connection, he went to jalpaiguri of West Bengal in the province of India last year to attend an open discussion session about theater. Recently he joined an occasion to recite his poems and share his thinking about poetry at Public Library, Shahbag, Dhaka.
