"Maniac 2000" (Maniac) is a song produced by Simon Fitzpatrick and Tim Hannigan featuring vocals performed by Mark McCabe and Shelley Bukspan. It is a medley of Michael Sembello's 1983 song "Maniac" and written by Mark McCabe and Dublin DJ Al Gibbs, over the instrumental club version of Irish rave act 4-Rhythm's cover of "Maniac", dating back to 1995. Maniac 2000 was released in Ireland in March 2000 and reached number one in the Irish Singles Chart, staying at that position for ten weeks (March 4 - May 6). It is the fifth best-selling single in the history of the chart. The song has achieved cult status in Ireland and has entered the zeitgeist.

In 2015, on the 15th Anniversary of its release, Maniac 2000 reached number one on iTunes Ireland again and re-entered the Irish Singles Chart at number 12.[2] McCabe performed the song at Electric Picnic 2015.
