Manish Tiwari is an Indian Film and TV producer, director and screenwriter.[1][2] He achieved initial success with tv series Saturday Suspense tackling the themes of crime and mystery revolving around each crime such as ‘Lethal Tinsel’, ‘Kya Main Pagal Hoon?’ etc.[3]He began his career in television, moving to feature films in 2003.

Early life

Manish was born into a middle-class Brahmin family in Bihar. His father, Dr. B.B. Tiwari is a respected dental surgeon in Mughalsarai near Varanasi. He completed his primary education in Mughalsarai and went to Varanasi, Chennai and Delhi for his higher studies. From childhood he had a burning desire to be a film maker, however he couldn't share his dreams with anyone thinking that nobody would understand and people would make fun of it. He wanted to go to the USA for further studies with a plan in mind to earn enough money there and come back later to make films. He was selected in few renowned universities in the USA but could not take admission because of the poor financial situation at home. However, he immediately moved on and started looking out for avenues by talking to various tv channels. Fortunately, he got the opportunity from Zee tv to produce infomercials for their initiative 'Asian Sky shop'.[4] After this he did not look back and kept on delivering shows for different tv channels in different capacities. After a couple of years he shot to fame with his film Last Train To Mahakali which was directed by acclaimed writer, director Anurag Kashyap. Manish was awarded with Special Jury Award at the 8th Annual Star Screen Awards for the same.[5]
