Mansoor bin Tahnoon Al Nahayan

Dr. Mansoor Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan currently lectures at the American University of Sharjah as an assistant professor in political science.[1] He started his career as an educator.

As part of his Asian journey Dr. Mansoor published a series of articles along with his lectures in Gulf News. These Articles mainly concern some of the most common political issues in the Arab region as well as South West Asia.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]

Political and business career

Dr. Mansoor graduated in July 1997 with a medical degree from United Arab Emirates University.[12] In June 1999 he received a master's degree in Public Health and Health Administration (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health.

In June 2000 he received a Master's in Public Administration (MPA) from the Kennedy School of Government. In June 2001 he received a Master's of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. In October 2009 Dr. Mansoor successfully completed his PhD in International Relations & Security Studies from the latter institution.[13]

He worked as the chairman of the Emirates Medical Association (19972000).[14] From 1997 to 2002 Dr. Mansoor worked on and off in both general surgery and general medicine in Al Ain Hospital. Since his graduation from medical school, Dr. Mansoor volunteered to work as an adjacent physician in Al Ain Hospital.[15] Dr. Mansoor also worked as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces from 1990 to 2011, where he earned many licenses: Operational, Element and Section Lead Fighter Pilot, Operational Helicopter Pilot, Helicopter Civil Pilot License and Fixed Wing Civil Pilot License.[16][17]

In 2001, he was one of the five members of the UN mission to Pakistan and Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban government, headed by Al Akhdar Ibrahimi.

Interests and activities

Dr. Mansoor Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan was the chairman of the United Emirates Shooting Association since he was aged 18.[18] He has also participated in many competitions, representing the UAE.[19][20]
