Manuel Becerra

Manuel Becerra (1762–1849) was a land grantee of 8,856 acres (35.84 km2) from Stephen F. Austin,[1] a guide to Austin along the Colorado River,[1] and as síndico, (civil judge (see also sindic), signed peace treaties with the Karankawa Indians and Coco Indians.[2] Reference is made to both tribes under Spanish Texas.

Historical Marker

There is an Historical marker for Manuel Bacerra at Presidio La Bahia, 1.5 mi (2.4 km). S of Goliad on US 183, in Texas.[1]
