Marc John Jefferies (born May 16, 1990) is an American actor. Among his best-known roles are Derrick Mitchell on the NBC sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show, and as Darius on Treme, the HBO drama series set in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Career
Jefferies debuted as the title character in the 1995 drama Losing Isaiah as a toddler. He was also featured as a child spokesman in commercials for PeoplePC.
Jefferies appeared in many popular films when he was younger, including The Haunted Mansion, Stuart Little 2, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Spider-Man 2. He was Young Dre in Brown Sugar. He also did voiceovers in the films Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.. He played Derrick on the NBC sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show.
In 2005, he portrayed a young Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson in Get Rich or Die Tryin'. In 2009 he portrayed the rapper Lil' Cease in the 2009 feature Notorious, a biopic about The Notorious B.I.G.. He guest starred on the TV series Dexter during its third season as Wendell, a drug dealer's doorman. Jefferies appears in the feature Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son (2012).
He portrays Darius on Treme, the HBO drama series set in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Jefferies now has a new role in the Starz series, Power (TV series) a 50 Cent produced series.
Personal life
His younger sister LaShawn Tináh Jefferies is an actress who has appeared in TV series which include Law & Order: Criminal Intent and the independent film Whitepaddy.[1] They have a brother, Marc Arthur Jefferies.
He also has his own photography studio which is run by his father who is a photographer. He also started an acting school in New York, City. It is called "Marc John Acting Academy."
