Mare Fen

Mare Fen is managed as a nature reserve by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough.[1] It lies north of the village of Swavesey and west of Over in the county of Cambridgeshire.

It is a Local Nature Reserve.[2][3]

Skating

Skating competitions were held at Mare Fen from 1880 to 1933. The county council allowed skating to continue when it bought the fen in 1985.[4]
