Marie-Thérèse Bardet

Marie-Thérèse Bardet (2 June 1898 – 8 June 2012) was a French supercentenarian. She was the oldest person in Europe, and the 6th oldest verified person in the world, at the time of her death in 2012.[1][2][3]

Bardet was born in Lorient, Brittany, to single mother who gave up her daughter to French authorities.[2][3]

Bardet died at a retirement home in Pontchateau, Loire-Atlantique, France, on 8 June 2012, just 6 days after celebrating her 114th birthday.[1] She was survived by her two children, who were ages 90 and 88 years old, respectively, in 2012; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.[2][3]
