Mario Tchou (1924–1961), was an Italian engineer, of Chinese descent, a pioneer of computer science in Italy. Mario Tchou was an engineer who led a group of scientists from the University of Pisa to invent, in 1959, the Olivetti Elea, Italy's first computer. He was also a professor at Columbia University. He graduated from the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering in 1949.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
