Steele High School is a public high school located in Amherst, Ohio, USA, 30 miles west of Cleveland. The school was named after a long serving principal of Amherst High, Marion L. Steele.
Student life
The school has consistently received an "excellent" rating on the Ohio State Report Card. The school colors are kelly green and gold and the school teams are nicknamed the Comets. The school is a member of the Southwestern Conference.
Television broadcasting
Amherst Steele's television broadcasting class annually ranks among the best in the US. Between 2003 and 2008, Amherst received two national Student Emmy awards and 30 regional Student Emmy awards, as well as several International Communicator Awards.[3]

Standardized Testing
As of 2013: 67.0% of graduating students took the ACT with a mean score of 23.0[5] 9.1% of graduating students took that SAT with a mean score of 1,126.0[5]
