John Mark Burns (born September 21, 1979) is a Evangelical Christian televangelist[1] and pastor[2] of The Harvest Praise & Worship Center from the United States, and supporter Donald Trump as the 2016 US Republican Party nominee for the President of the United States. Pastor Burns is the Co-Founder & CEO of The NOW Television Network,[1] a christian television network based out of South Carolina that reaches millions of homes in the US & CANADA.

Early life

Pastor Burns was born in Anderson, South Carolina on September 21, 1979 as John Mark Burns, to parents Pastor Otis & Evangelist Debra Burns. At an early age, he began playing the keyboard and singing gospel music with his family group, The Burns Brothers of Belton, SC, traveling extensively around the country. In 1995, at the age of 16, Pastor Burns was licenced as a Minister of The Gospel under The Reverend Otis Burns at The Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Pelzer, SC. While preaching, he attended Belton-Honea Path High School and in 1998 received a South Carolina GED from the SC Board of Education. Burns later continued his education at the North Greenville University's School of Business. On February 19, 2005, Pastor Burns was catechized and ordained at The Traveler's Rest Baptist Church in Seneca, SC.

Television

Pastor Burns, along with his wife, Tomarra Burns, founded The NOW Television Network,[1] a Christian television network based out of South Carolina that reaches millions of homes in the US & Canada on March 1, 2015. He is also the creator, executive producer and Host of Lift Your Voice Gospel Show[3] that currently airs to more than 45 Million Homes on The Impact Television Network,[4] Directv, Dish, Comcast Cable, Cable Bahamas, ROKU and online at watchimpact.com. Pastor Burns can be seen weekly on his National Televised Program, It's Your Harvest NOW with Pastor Mark Burns[5] in US & CANADA.

Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign

Pastor Burns was a Trump surrogate[6] who has appeared on news channels such as CNN,[7] MSNBC,[8] FOX News,[9] Al Jazeera-America, BBC, CBS News[10] National Public Radio (NPR)[11] to give interviews about his support for Trump, although some people opposed Trump, claimed that he should not deserve the Evangelical vote due to his agreement with Planned Parenthood (an abortion provider), his marriage to four women, and his misquoting of the Bible.[12] He opposed Ted Cruz's position as a "man of the people" and a "man of the Evangelicals", as well as his accidental use of a soft-core porn star[13] as an advertisement for his campaign. Pastor Burns has traveled extensively on the Trump campaign trail praying and introducing Donald Trump[14] promoting the message of peace and unity among all Americans.

Controversies

Pastor Burns made a controversial comment at a North Carolina Trump Rally when he stated that Democratic Presidential Candidate, Bernie Sanders who is Jewish, "Gotta Get Saved.[7]"

Personal life

Pastor Burns is married to Tomarra Burns and together they have 6 children residing in South Carolina.
