Marko Backovic

Marko Backovic aka 'The Serbian Sniper' 'Cid the Sloth' is a 6ft5 professional basketball player for Sheffield Sharks and England. Born 19 February 1997, Marko took up basketball in secondary school, whilst attending Stocksbridge High School. From starting with Sheffield Junior Sharks, Marko was very quickly selected by England and also Great Britain. For the majority of his youth career, Marko was playing above his age range, often playing in Under 18s aged just 16.

Marko is also proud of his Serbian ancestry, with a large proportion of his family originating from Serbia, and the town of Cid. Marko has also been touted as the next Bill Russell after hoovering 4 rebounds in 2 minutes during the 15/16 Season.
