Marlon Tábora Muñoz (Santa Rosa de Copán, 3 April 1969) is a honduran politician and a doctor in economic sciences, member of the National Party of Honduras. At present it exerts as Executive Director for Central América and Belize at the Inter-American Development Bank from August 2015[1] and Sectorial Minister of Economic Regulation in Honduras from 27 January 2014[2][3][4]

Biography

His beginnings

Marlon Tábora Muñoz was born on 3 April 1969 in the city of Santa Rosa of Copan, in the western department of Copan, only son of the marriage formed by the gentleman Jose Ernesto Tábora and the lady Hilda Muñoz Tábora. His primary education initiated it in the school Jose Maria Medina of Santa Rosa of Copan, and afterwards moved to the capital of the republic Tegucigalpa where continued his studies and graduated from Instituto Salesiano San Miguel as Bachelor of Science (Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras) in 1985.[5]

Academy

He made his university studies in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras where he obtained the degree of Industrial Mechanical Engineer with academic excellence in 1989. Later he obtained the degree of Master in International Businesses in the Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC) in 1994 and his Doctorate in Sciences of the Administration in the Catholic University of Honduras (UNICAH) in 1999 both with honours Summa Cum Laude. Later, he completed a Mastery in Administration of Public Politics in the Mc Court School of Public Policy (MSPP) of the University of Georgetown ( before GPPI) and studies of Public Administration in the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.[6] Tábora Is married with Saira Esmeralda Ponce and has two children, Marlon Andrés and Isabella.

Professional and Political path

Tábora Has developed his professional career as much in the public sector as in the private sector. In March 2002, Tábora was designated by the President Ricardo Maduro, as President of the National Commission of Telecommunications (CONATEL), where led the reform and opening of the sector of telecommunications in Honduras.[7] During his management at the head of CONATEL, Tábora chaired the Commission of Telecommunications of Centroamérica (COMTELCA) Between 2005 and 2006, Tábora exerted like Consultor of the Economic Commission for Latin America (CEPAL), where led the work and studies that gave place to the approval of the Law of Competition in Honduras.[8] In November of the 2009, Tábora was elect as first acting deputy of the National Party in the Francisco Morazán Department , charge to the that requested licence to be able to incorporate as part of the executive branch.[9] In January of the 2010, Tabora is nominated by the President Porfirio Lobo as Minister Boss of Cabinet and Vice-Minister of the Presidency, charge that held until June of that year, date in which it's nominated to be representative of Honduras in front of the Inter-American Bank of Development (BID) where becomes Alternating Executive Director for Centroamérica and Belize.[10][11] In December of the 2013, the recently elect President Juan Orlando Hernandez nominates it as President of the Central Bank of Honduras and Coordinator and Boss of the Economic Cabinet place that assumes on 27 January 2014.[12] During his management at the head of the economic cabinet, Tábora led successfully the process of negotiation of the agreement trianual of Honduras with the FMI in 2014 and the improvement of qualification crediticia of the country in 2015.[13][14][15] In December of the 2014, the magazine Strategy and Businesses nominated it like one of the 100 more influential characters of the region centroamericana, under the calificativo of “The Man of the Figures”.[16] In February of the 2015 Tabora, assumed as President of the Monetary Council Centroamericano (CMCA)

In January 2016, Forbes magazine included him on the list of the 25 most influential figures in Central America [17]
