Marsha Shandur (born 1977) is a radio presenter, DJ, music manager, voiceover artist and music supervisor who is also best known for presenting on Xfm London and Xfm Manchester (known just as Marsha).

Career

Marsha presented many shows on Xfm during her 8 years at the station (including Weekend Breakfast, Weekend Daytime and "The Weekender") before announcing that she was leaving Xfm to live in Toronto, Canada on 8 January 2011.

She is the Music Supervisor for E4 shows The Inbetweeners and Made in Chelsea. Along with fellow Xfm DJ Pete Donaldson she was a continuity presenter on Discovery Network's DMAX.

Marsha is credited with having discovered the band Scouting for Girls and, with the support of Xfm, helped them achieve commercial success. She manages Sam Isaac, a recording artist who has received daytime radio plays from both BBC Radio 1 and Xfm and music on NBC's Chuck. She also made a podcast for Xfm called Marsha Meets... in which she has interviewed comedians such as Stewart Lee, Rufus Hound, Greg Davies, Richard Herring and Russell Kane. The Guardian has twice named it one of the world's Top Ten Best Comedy Podcasts.[1][2]

In 2013, Marsha launched Yes Yes Marsha, a business where she teaches people who think they hate networking how to enjoy it, along with career counseling for those at a turning point in her career. She currently posts a weekly blog about networking on her website.[3] She also does voice-over work, and is currently the station voice of Absolute Radio 00s.

Personal life

On 11 November 2012, Shandur ran a solo marathon in London. She made the decision to do this after the New York City Marathon was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy.[4] Shandur's run was covered by the BBC,[5] ITV,[6] Xfm[7] and Complete Music Update[8] in the UK and CBC Radio One[9] in Canada. This helped her raise over £3,600[10] for The Royal Marsden's Cancer Charity, a charity she had chosen in honour of Lisa Lynch, author of The C Word.
