Marten de Roon (born 29 March 1991) is a Dutch footballer playing for Serie A side Atalanta as a midfielder. He formerly played for Sparta Rotterdam and SC Heerenveen

Club career

De Roon made his Eredivisie debut for Sparta on 27 March 2010, being in the starting line-up for a match against FC Twente at De Grolsch Veste.[1] De Roon made a total of 3 appearances in the Eredivisie for the 2009–10 season. In April 2012, Eredivisie club, Sc Heerenveen announced the signing of Marten de Roon and he signed a 3-year contract with the Dutch side. In July 2015, he was signed by Serie A side Atalanta.

International career

De Roon has represented the Netherlands U-19 team in the qualification rounds for the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship. On 12 November 2009, De Roon made his debut and scored his first goal for the U-19 Oranje in a qualification match against Malta.[2]
