Martim de Freitas was a Portuguese nobleman, Alcalde of the castle of Coimbra.[1] He was vassal and confidant of Sancho I of Portugal.[2]

Biography

Born late 12th century in Portugal, Freitas was a member of the court of King Sancho I.[3] He was appointed Alcalde of Celorico and Coimbra.[4] Martin de Freitas was the son of Duarte, a Portugues knight, descendant of Duarte de Puy.[5]
