Martin Preiss
Martin Preiss (born September 18, 1978 in Prague) is a Czech cinematographer, writer and director.
Life and career
Martin Preiss was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, (now Prague, Czech Republic). He studied at FAMU (4th best international school by "Hollywood reporter") and gained Masters in cinematography in 2008.[1] His is member of Czech Society Of Cinematographers (ACK)[2] and was Member of Presidium of this organisation. He shot numerous feature films, many short films and commercials.
Awards and Nominations
- For A Son's War he received Best Cinematography at California Independent Film Festival in 2010,[3]
- Nominated for Golden Tadpole at Camerimage[4] and Best technical contribution at New Zealand Film & TV Awards [5] for his work at Cargo.
- Nominated for Czech Society of Cinematographers Award[6] for feature film Little Knight's Tale.
Family
His uncle and aunt are famous Czech actors Viktor Preiss and Jana Preissova, his namesake cousin is actor as well.
