Masjid Alwi

Masjid Alwi is a mosque located in the city of Kangar, Perlis, Malaysia. It is one of the most popular landmark in the state. It is named after Raja of Perlis at that time, Raja Syed Alwi Ibni Almarhum Tuan Syed Saffi Jamalullail.[1]

The construction process of the mosque was started in 1920 by contribution from Muslim tithes (zakat) as well as donation from Muslim government officials and businessmen. However, physical construction only took place in 1931 and fully completed in 1933.
