Matjaz Belsak (in slovenian Matjaž Belšak, 23 September 1992) is a professional slovenian strongman athlete and a powerlifter.

Biography

He was born in Slovenia on September 23 of 1992. He is grown up in a family of cooking lovers: in fact his parents are owners of a restaurant and Matjaz is also an apprentice chef. He took part in some junior powerlifting competition before starting strongman career at age of 17. Matjaz is a two time Slovenia's Strongest Man (2014,2015) and in 2015 he participated at Europe's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Man contests, showing his excellent skills. On january 2016 he placed in 2nd place at World's Strongest Viking.

Physical and technical characteristics

He is tall 185 cm (6 ft and 1 in) for 140 kg (309 lbs). Matjaz is very strong on shoulders (personal record on giant circus dumbbell event: 14 reps with a 87 kg weight) and also show a great power in legs and back. Despite the fact that he is a strongman athlete, as well as he is strong, Matjaz has a great stamina and speed.
