Matt Granite
Matthew Granite (born May 10, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario Canada) is a TV show producer, show host, YouTube personality and Emmy Award winner.[1][2]
Career
Matt Granite attended the University of Toronto where he received an Honors B.A. in English (2006) before pursuing journalism at Northwestern University. He received a Master's Of Science in Broadcast Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago in 2007. After this he worked as a TV producer and on-air personality for KVLY-TV (NBC) and KXJB (CBS) covering breaking news for parts of Eastern North Dakota and Northwestern Minnesota.[3] In 2009 he began broadcasting a personal finance TV segment called ‘Ways 2 Save' which - today - is syndicated in more than 40 broadcast markets in both the United States and Canada. Such shows include Daybreak (WGRZ, Buffalo, New York), King 5 Morning News (KING, Seattle/Tacoma Washington), 9 News Mornings (KUSA, Denver), Channel 3 News Today (WKYC, Cleveland, Ohio), Today In St. Louis (KSDK, St. Louis), The Good Morning Show (WFMY, Greensboro, North Carolina), News 10 Morning (KXTV, Sacramento, California), Houston Morning Show (KHOU, Houston, Texas) and 13 On Your Side at Noon (WZZM, Grand Rapids, Michigan). Matt Granite is also a featured contributor to USA Today[4] and has more than 130,000 subscribers on YouTube (March 2016).[5]
Prizes and Nominations
In 2014 Matt Granite won an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for “Best Morning Show Producer - Market 1-20 – News.” In 2012, he was nominated for an Emmy Award under the category of “Best Reporter in the Newscast – Morning/Daytime Category.”[6]
