Matt Kelchner (born March 5, 1959) is the head coach of the Christopher Newport University Captains college football team in Newport News, Virginia, and previously served as an assistant coach at The College of William & Mary between 1984 and 2000. Kelchner was hired as Christopher Newport's first head coach on May 9, 2000.[1]
Over ten seasons at Christopher Newport, Kelchner has compiled an overall record of 68 wins to only 37 losses, guided his team to the Division III playoffs in six seasons and been named USA South Coach of the Year in 2001, 2002 & 2006.[2]
