Matt Murphy Productions is a New York-based theatrical production company providing creative, management, and financial support for a wide variety of theatre projects.[1]

About

The company was started in 2006 By Matt Murphy, who has produced Memphis, Winner of the Best Musical Tony Award,[2] Thurgood starring Laurence Fishburne,[3] who was nominated for a Tony Award for his stellar performance.,[4]Impressionism starring Academy Award and Tony Award Winner Jeremy Irons,[5] Altar Boyz,[6] which won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical.[7] and Virtually Me a touring musical that was profiled on Fox News and NBC News for its efforts to educate students about the increasingly challenging issue of cyber-bullying.[8]

Matt Murphy Productions is currently represented on Broadway with the new revival of Side Show [9] and Off-Broadway by the hit comedy Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man which was written by Murphy from the bestselling novel of the same name and the family friendly Berenstain Bears Live in Family Matters, the Musical based on children books of the same name .[10]

Upcoming Projects

Matt Murphy has acquired the stage rights to Dances With Wolves. A large cast and expansive design elements are envisioned, because according to Murphy, "There is no way to do Dances With Wolves, which is essentially a Western on stage, without it being spectacular and epic in scope." [11]
