Matthew Rizai
Life and education
Rizai holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Career
Rizai was Chairman and CEO of the [1][2] Engineering Animation, Inc. (EAI). Rizai was credited with turning EAI into a highly innovative and profitable enterprise that created leading-edge software for the design and manufacturing productivity arena. Matt led EAI’s successful IPO in 1996 as well as its sale to Unigraphics Solutions (UGS) in 2000.[3]
Prior to EAI, Rizai was the co-founder of Computer Aided Design Software, Inc. He was also a research engineer at General Motors Research Labs. Rizai is a Board Member of the Stafford Development Companies.
Rizai is a well-known leader of technology firms for more than two decades, and is quoted as an expert source in business books.[4]
Workiva
Matthew Rizai co-founded Workiva in 2008 and currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Workiva (NYSE:WK) created Wdesk, a cloud-based productivity platform for enterprises to collect, link, report and analyze business data with control and accountability. Thousands of organizations, including over 65% of the Fortune 500, use Wdesk for risk, compliance or management reporting.[5]
Rizai is known for his ability to build a collaborative culture that fosters the high level of innovation that is critical to successfully scaling technology firms.[6]
Workiva was named Top 20 Government, Risk and Compliance Solution Providers of 2014 by CIO Review Magazine[7]
In 2015, Workiva took home the honor of Top Enterprise Risk Management Solution Providers; also awarded by CIO Review Magazine [8]
