Matthew "Matty" Dixon (born 19 December 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for League Two club York City.
Career
Dixon was born in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire.[2] He began his career with Hull City and after progressing though the youth teams at the club he signed a professional contract in May 2013.[3] He spent time on loan at Conference North club Gainsborough Trinity in 2014–15.[4] He made his Hull debut on 11 August 2015 in a League Cup match against Accrington Stanley.[5]
On 15 January 2016, Dixon joined League Two club York City on a one-and-a-half-year contract on a free transfer.[6] He was signed as a replacement for Ben Godfrey, who had left York for Premier League club Norwich City.[7]
