Max Evans (politician)

George Maxwell "Max" Evans MBE (born 29 November 1930) is a former Australian politician.

He was born in Perth and was a chartered accountant before entering politics. In 1986 he was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council as a Liberal member for Metropolitan Province, moving to North Metropolitan Region in 1989. He was a shadow minister from 1986 until 1993, when the Liberals won government and he became Minister for Finance, Racing and Gaming, serving until 1999. He retired from politics in 2001.[1]
