May Menassa

May Menassa (Arabic: مي منسى) (born 1939) is a Lebanese author, critic and translator.[1][2] She was born in Beirut in 1939. She studied French literature prior to pursuing a career in journalism. Since 1969, she has also been a critic for the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar.

Menassa is the author of several novels and children's books. She has also translated French literary works into Arabic. Her novel Anta'il al-Ghubar wa Amsh (Walking in the Dust) was shortlisted for the inaugural Arabic Booker Prize.
