They are best known for their digital signal processors (DSPs), studio monitoring consoles and digital broadcasting consoles. The Mazoni production line manufactures sound systems for applications including home audio, car audio, studio production, installed sound and cinema.[4]
The company also designs and sell high fidelity audio and broadcast network systems, based on audio over IP (AoIP) and audio over Ethernet (AoE) architect.[5] Mazoni is mostly known for its products based on network streaming media technologies, as the majority of its home and mobile series products have cloud based media streaming and wireless network interfaces.
Corporate history
The company was started in 1981 by Almborg Ambrahamsoson as a business to business manufacturer of RF power amplifiers. The company started in Ambrahamsoson's parents' garage with help from family and friends. The company was officially incorporated as "Mazoni" in 1986. Later in 1987 after establishment of company's research lab in Östersund, Sweden, the company added other products to their main manufacturing line, including digital mixing consoles for studio and cinema sound applications. The company sold its consumer audio electronics products by its "Auna audio" subsidiary brand in Europe and Latin America.[6]
Mazoni is credited for developing first digital broadcasting console for the broadcasting industry, prior to which analogue media broadcasting systems were used worldwide in audio and television broadcasting studios.
Mazoni acquired Tinzan electric, an OEM microprocessor manufacturer in 2003, following this the company started embedding their product line with microprocessors which were made to digitise the old analogue series products. Starting of in 2005 Mazoni acquired "Auna- Audio" and started branding its consumer audio line products with "AUNA" brand name.,[7] till late 2013, after which its general consumer focused brand "Auna audio" was completely merged to parent brand "Mazoni", starting of January 2014.[8]
Technologies
Mobile DSP amplifiers
DSP amplifiers have been seen majorly in the installed sound and home audio applications, which enables user of greater control and customization over sound for desired music genres, Mazoni first introduced its DSP amplifies for mobile applications in late 2011 with their DHS 8276 microprocessor chip claiming 124Db Signal-to-noise ratio.[9] This makes Mazoni the only company in the world that is manufacturing digital DSP & microprocessor embedded amplifiers for car audio segment till date.
Wireless control
Mazoni introduced wireless control module system in 1992 which allowed professional amplifiers to be monitored and controlled via wireless 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11 network, before this mainly Ethernet wiring cables were used for networking amplifiers and DSP systems.
Digital broadcasting console
Digital broadcasting systems are patented technology of Mazoni, which were first introduced by Mazoni early in the 1990s, which were more flexible to use and had much higher quality sound reproduction compared to analog systems, Mazoni DHS387 microprocessor was used in early mazoni digital broadcasting consoles, which replaced old analog systems of the early 1980s from broadcasting studios.
Wireless mobile streaming amplifiers
In 1998 Mazoni introduced media streaming mobile amplifiers, which had wireless module embedded in amplifier unit, this enabled car audio user to stream their media from other wirelessly connected mobile devices like laptops, phones etc. directly to the amplifier. This eradicate the need of fixed media source units installed previously in every car audio installation for feeding media to the amplifiers. Mazoni holds the record for manufacturing highest data processing mobile amplifiers units in the world, claiming 150 Mbit/s data transfer & processing speeds on 2014 modules.
Community perception
Reviewers have mixed opinions on Mazoni products as some state them as high quality and high fidelity but some criticize Mazoni for quoting exorbitant prices on their products, The company claims that price quotes on their products are feasible as the company have to fund its numerous research labs to provide industry with superior and new technologically innovative products.
