Mckenzie Small is an actress and singer[1] who is best known for starring in the Disney Show Backstage[2] as Scarlett Dunn.

On January 5, 2014 cousins Mckenzie and Haley Small posted a video to YouTube of themselves performing Beyoncé's "Pretty Hurts". Eleven days later the video was posted on Beyoncé’s Facebook page with the comment “Love it Haley and Mckenzie!” The cover video now has over a million views and counting.[3]

In Backstage Small portrays the confidently feisty and sometimes dangerously ambitious Scarlett Dunn who is known in the school as the girl who will do anything to achieve her dreams, however Scarlett does have a softer side to her and can be kind but she will do anything to achieve her ambitions.[4] Small has also appeared on several interviews to promote Backstage, most prominently This Morning.[5] Backstage has gained worldwide success with the show first being released in Canada, and following success in Canada the show has been released across the globe on Disney Channel premiering in North America on 25 March 2016, The United Kingdom on 9 May 2016 and is due to be released in Asia, Mainland Europe and Australia. On the show Small performs notably the song "Elevator".[6] Small has also released her debut single "Caught Feelings",[7] Small promoted her single's release by releasing a snippet onto her Instagram account; the video gained over 380 likes. Small's debut song's music video was released onto YouTube on 22 April 2016;[8] the song has already gained over 30,000 views on YouTube. Also on 22 April 2016 "Caught Feelings" was released onto iTunes as a stand alone single.[9] Also on YouTube Small has released several covers to great success, most notably Pretty Hurts and Burn. Small first released a duet cover of Pretty Hurts with her cousin Haley Mckenzie. The cover was released 5 January 2014 and successfully gained over 1 Million views.[10] Small then released a cover of Burn on 17 March 2014 with gained a successful score of over 60,000 views.[11]
