Meka Srikanth is an Indian film actor, who is known for works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He has received two state Nandi Awards, and one Filmfare Award South.[1] He has starred in films like Swarabhishekam, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for 2004, and Virodhi, premiered in Indian panorama section, at the 2011 International Film Festival of India.[2] Sri Rama Rajyam also had a special screening at International Film Festival of India on 28 November 2011.[3]

Srikanth collaborated with film directors like S.V. Krishna Reddy, Krishna Vamsi, Jayanth C. Paranjee, G. Neelakanta Reddy, EVV Satyanarayana and K. Viswanath to give hits like Varasudu, Vinodam, Egire Paavurama, Aahvaanam, Maa Nannaki Pelli, Khadgam, Shankar Dada M.B.B.S., Pellam vurelithe, Yemandoi Srivaru, Kshemanga Velli Labhanga Randi, Oh Chinadana, Shankar Dada Zindabad, Operation Duryodhana, Mahatma, and Govindudu Andarivadele.[4][5]

Personal life

Srikanth was born in Gangavathi, Karnataka, India in 1967. He did B.Com in CSI College of commerce Karnataka University, Dharwad, Karnataka and got a diploma from the film institute. Srikanth is married to Ooha and has two sons, Roshan and Rohan and a daughter, Medha. He currently lives in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.[6][7]

Early career

Srikanth played minor roles as villain and supporting artiste in his earlier career. He has starred in more than 100 Telugu films. His first hit film as a lead actor was Taj Mahal, which was produced by Dr. D. Ramanaidu and directed by Muppalaneni Shiva which was released on 25 May 1995.
