Melby is a farming village in the municipality of Skaun in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located east of Fannrem (in Orkdal), and via Fannrem the village is connected to the European route E39 highway by a small road. Melby is located southwest of Børsa, Eggkleiva, and Skaun, and it is connected to the County Road 709 at the village of Skaun.

There is an old, preserved school building dating from 1878 in Melby. The school building is a part of the local museum Skaun bygdamuseum.[2] The area is named Melby (Old Norse: Meðalbýr), which means "middle farm".[3]
