The short-bearded melidectes (Melidectes nouhuysi), also known as the short-bearded honeyeater, is a species of bird in the Meliphagidae family. It is found in West Papua, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
