MelodyDay (hangul: 멜로디데이) is a South Korean girl group formed in 2012 by Viewga Entertainment and LOEN Entertainment. The group officially debuted in 2014. The group composed of four members: Yeoeun, Chahee, Yein and Yoomin.

History

Pre-debut

MelodyDay started their career in 2012[1] as soundtrack singers for dramas. They performed "I Have a Person That I Love" for Pretty Man,[2] "All About" for Master's Sun, of which was also made the music video, and "Like Back Then" for My Daughter Seo-young, which was nominated as Best OST at the Seoul International Drama Awards.[3] On June 26, 2013, they released the ballad "Loving Alone", included in the single album New Wave Studio Rookie, Vol. 1.

2014: Debut with Another Parting Parting, New member Yoomin, Anxious

MelodyDay always worked without appearing in public until the official debut, which took place on February 25, 2014, with the first single Another Parting, whose title track was used in the soundtrack of the Another Parting with Seo In-guk and Wang Ji-won.[4] On May 21, they collaborated with Changmin of 2AM for the song "The Very Last First",[5] and on August 14 with Lee Jong-hyun of CNBLUE for "To Tell You the Truth".[6] It followed a track for the original soundtrack of Fated to Love You, "You're My Everything", remake of Jeff Bernat's "Be The One".[7]

In October 2014, MelodyDay added a fourth member, Yoomin.[8] The first song released as a quartet was "Listen to My Heart" for Cantabile Tomorrow OST.[9] On December 12, they released their second digital single, Anxious, featuring Mad Clown.[10]

2015: #LoveMe, Speed Up

On June 1, 2015, MelodyDay release trailer for their comeback with #LoveMe. The group would be promoting their title song called #LoveMe was released on June 9. On September 29, the group release trailer for their comeback, Speed Up and it was released on October 7. They release Speed Up music video starring Got7's Junior as male lead in the music video.
