Menahem Saleh Daniel
Menahem Saleh Daniel (1846-1940) was an Iraqi Jewish landowner and philanthropist.
Career
Daniel was Deputy for Baghdad to the first Ottoman Parliament in Istanbul in 1876, and a Senator in the Kingdom of Iraq (1925-1932).[1]
Philanthropy
Daniel made substantial donations to both Jewish and Muslim charities, and built a Muslim orphanage in 1928, and a Jewish primary school in 1910.
Personal life
His nephew was Sir Sassoon Eskell.
