Menkib

Menkib can refer to the following stars (the name derives from the Arabic منكب mankib, meaning "shoulder"):

Menkab (Alpha Orionis or Betelgeuse), in the constellation Orion.
Markab (Alpha Pegasi), in the constellation Pegasus. Miscopied from "Menkib" for β Peg.
Menkib (Beta Pegasi), also in Pegasus.
Menkib (Xi Persei), in the constellation Perseus. It is also spelt Menchib or Menkhib. Some gave it for Zeta Persei (ζ Per) instead of Xi Persei (ξ Per).
