Mercury Browser is a proprietary freeware mobile browser for the Android and iOS developed by iLegendSoft. Mercury Browser uses the Webkit engine.
Features
- Tabbed Browsing: users can open and switch between web pages with multiple tabs either at the top of the screen or a thumbnail button at the bottom.
- Gesture Control: nine gestures for browser functions, such as switch tab, close tab or open settings.
- Browser Sync allows the user to sync Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome desktop browsers' bookmarks across devices using the Mercury Connect desktop extension.[1]
- Private Mode: stops the browser from recording the user's browsing history and cookies.
- Ad Blocking: stops display of most online advertising by using filter lists.
- Night Mode: the night mode (dimming the screen) can be switched manually, or the user can set specific time range to enable it.[2]
- Readability mode: hides all but the main text and images of a webpage.
- Adobe Flash: supported only on Android.[3]
Versions
Mercury Browser is available as a free version but this version includes advertising and a limit on the number of opened tabs, while the Pro version has no ads or tab limits.[4]
