Meri Arabidze

Meri Arabidze (Georgian: მერი არაბიძე; born February 25, 1994 in Samtredia, Georgia)[1] is a Georgian chess player who holds the titles of International master and Woman Grandmaster.

She has won three times the Girls' European Youth Chess Championship: Under10 in 2004,[2] Under12 in 2006,[3] Under14 in 2008.[4] She also won three times the Girls' World Youth Chess Championship: U10 in 2004,[5] U12 in 2005,[6] U18 in 2011.[7]

In 2014 she won the Moscow Open G, a round-robin tournament.[8]

Arabidze competed in the Women's World Chess Championship 2015: she sequentially knocked out Elisabeth Pähtz, Yaniet Marrero Lopez and Viktorija Cmilyte, then lost to Harika Dronavalli in the quarterfinals.

She was part of the Georgian women's team that won the Women's World Team Chess Championship 2015. In this competition Arabidze also won the gold medal on third board.[9]
