"Message/Personal" is a double A-side single by Japanese pop singer Aya Ueto. It was released on May 14, 2003 as the first single from her second album Message and is her fourth single overall.
Background
"Message/Personal" is Ueto's first double A-side single. "Message" was written by Yūho Iwasato, composed by HΛL, arranged and produced by Sin and is the title track to Ueto's second album Message.[1] The song was used in commercials for 8×4 by Kaou.[1] "Personal" was written and produced by T2ya and served as ending theme to the TV Tokyo anime Konjiki no Gash Bell!!.[1] Ueto has stated that "Message" is one of her personal favorites to sing in concert.[2] The single was released on the same month as the start of Ueto's first tour and the release of her first feature film Azumi.
Chart performance
"Message/Personal" peaked at #5 on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart and debuted at #10 on the Weekly Singles Chart with 18,002 copies sold. The single charted for a total of six weeks and sold over 28,000 copies.[3][4][5]
