Metoecis carnifex is a species of snout moth, and the only species in the genus Metoecis. It was described by Coquerel in 1855. It is found on Madagascar and South Africa.[2]
The larvae are parasitic on Anaphe infraeta. They perforate the newly formed cocoons and pupate within the cocoon envelope.
