MiGFlug & Adventure GmbH is a Zurich, Switzerland-based Aviation and Space Adventure company specialized in Fighter Jet Flights. MiGFlug was founded in 2004 by current CEO Philipp Schaer and Flavio Kaufmann. As of 2015, offerings include jet trainer flights, supersonic flights, Edge of Space flights, zero gravity flights and suborbital Space flights.[1][2]

Background

Philipp Schaer is the current CEO of MiGFlug.[3] He Co-founded the company in 2004,[4] along with another Student at University of Zurich.[5] The company is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland,[6] with the trade register entry in Lucerne.[7] MiGFlug’s main business is offering flights in military fighter jets for Civilians, including supersonic flights.[8] It started with jet flights in Ramenskoye Airport, Russia.[9] MiGFlug has been shown on Lonely Planet’s “Year of Adventures” with Ben Fogle,[10][11]broadcast on BBC, and is regularly on Top of Bucket Lists.[12][13][14][15][16] A number of notable passengers have been on a fighter jet offered by the company, including Anthony Bourdain,[17] Zoltán Báthory, Josh Cartu,[18] and Pauline Nordin. MiGFlug also runs the subsidiary GoAviator, a specialist for vintage flights, like historic Warbird and biplane flights.[19][20]

Aircraft flown in the past

Jets offered from Ramenskoye Airbase near Moscow in Russia from 2004-2006 included MiG-23, MiG-25, MiG-29 and the Su-27.[39] Through a cooperation with Thunder City in Cape Town, South Africa, MiGFlug offered English Electric Lightning and Blackburn Buccaneer flights.[40] MiGFlug also organized T-38 supersonic flights in the US for Galileo/ProSieben.[41]

Spacecraft and Zero Gravity

Weightless flight offers include the Ilyushin Il-76 from Star City (Zvyozdny gorodok) near Moscow in Russia and a Boeing 727 in the United States, through a cooperation with the Zero Gravity Corporation. MiGFlug also has a cooperation to offer future Suborbital Space flights in the Xcor Lynx.[42]
