Michael Aastrup Jensen

Michael Aastrup Jensen (born 16 March 1976 in Roskilde) is a Danish politician.[1]

He is a former mayor of Randers and current Member of Parliament for the Liberal Party since 2005.[2] He has been politically active since he as a 14-year-old joined the Young Liberals and the Liberal Party in Randers. In subsequent years he held various positions within these organizations.

In 1998-2006 he was a Member of Randers Town Council and was appointed mayor in 2002.[3] Thus, he became the youngest mayor ever in Denmark.[4]

Since the 2015 Danish parliamentary election Michael Aastrup Jensen has been spokesman on foreign affairs.[3] He is also a Member of numerous committees, including the Danish delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.[3]
