Lieutenant-General Michael J. Hood CD is a senior commander in the Royal Canadian Air Force and its current professional head.

Career

Hood joined the regular Canadian Forces in 1988.[1] After serving as commanding officer of 429 Tactical Airlift Squadron and then of 436 Tactical Airlift Squadron, he became Plans Officer at Canadian Expeditionary Force Command Headquarters in January 2006 and then became Commander of 8 Wing Trenton in June 2007.[1] He went on to be Director General Air Force Development in 2009, Deputy Director General of International Security Policy in June 2011 and Deputy Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force in September 2012.[2] After that he became Director of Staff for the Strategic Joint Staff in June 2013[3] and Commander of Royal Canadian Air Force in July 2015.[4]
