Michel Hockx
Michel Hockx (born 1964) is a Professor of Chinese at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. He is the author of several books, mainly focusing on modern Chinese poetry and literature.
His most significant book to date is Questions of Style: Literary Societies and Literary Journals in Modern China, 1911-1937, which focuses on how the style of Republican-era Chinese literature was shaped by the context in which it was produced. Specifically, Hockx looks at Chinese authors' practice of gathering in literary societies and publishing in literary journals. In 2012 Hockx joined the Advisory Board of the International Museum for Family History.
