MicroAssist is a learning and development consulting firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. There are three major divisions within MicroAssist: Learning, Law Enforcement and Custom Application Development.
Learning division
This division is responsible for creating, delivering, and hosting custom training with a special emphasis in usability and accessibility.
Criminal justice information system
This is a consulting and development division focusing on the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) space. Current division focus is on:Sex Offender Registration (SOR); Computerized Criminal History (CCH); Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR); National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS); Rap Back; Registration, Licensing and Reporting Systems (RLRS)
Application development
This division is responsible for operating several custom application development groups that focus on extending Open Source and custom solutions.
MicroAssist milestones
- 1988- Sanjay Nasta founded MicroAssist.[1]
- 1995- MicroAssist launched first Internet course.
- 1997- MicroAssist launched Texas Department of Public Safety website — first time instant access to Texas Criminal History.[2][3]
- 1998- MicroAssist developed Public/Secure Sex Offender Registration Database and Application for Texas Department of Public Safety.[4]
- 2001 - MicroAssist developed Uniform Crime Reporting Database and Application Texas Department of Public Safety.[5]
- 2005 - MicroAssist developed Texas Incident Based Reporting System (TIBRS) / National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS), providing 50 additional crime elements not included in the UCR Summary side.[6]
- 2007- MicroAssist entered e-learning market.[7]
- 2009- MicroAssist launched EthicsEd, an e-Learning program about sexual misconduct and abuse between employees and their students in schools.[8]
- 2014- MicroAssist developed a CRS mobile app for Texas Department of Public Safety,[9] which includes information about sex offenders, Texas' 10 Most Wanted fugitives, human trafficking, and suspicious activity reporting.[10][11]
- 2015- MicroAssist developed e-learning for Impact Texas Teen Driver program.[12][13][14]
