Micropolyspora is a defunct genus of bacteria within family Nocardiaceae. Members of this genus were transferred to new genera in families Nocardiaceae, Streptosporangiaceae and Pseudonocardiaceae.[1] These changes effectively ended the official status of this genus, but the name persists in older research articles, and is occasionally used in contemporary settings.
Family Nocardiaceae
- Micropolyspora brevicatena became Nocardia brevicatena.[1]
Family Streptosporangiaceae
- Micropolyspora angiospora became Microtetraspora angiospora, which became Nonomuraea angiospora.[1]
Family Pseudonocardiaceae
- Micropolyspora faeni became Micropolyspora rectivirgula, which became Faenia rectivirgula, which became Saccharopolyspora rectivirgula.[1]
- Micropolyspora internatus became Saccharomonospora internatus.[1][2]
