Microtropis wallichiana is a species of small tree in the Celastraceae family. It is native to India and Sri Lanka. Leaves are simple, opposite, decussate, and estipulate. Tree is about 15m high. Branchlets are yellowish in mature, youngest darker. Fruit a capsule, 1-seeded. Flowers bisexual with 5 petals. Flowering and fruiting occur between December–January.[1][2]
