Micrurus hemprichii is a species of venomous coral snake in the family Elapidae.[1]

Etymology

The specific name, hemprichii, is in honor of German naturalist Wilhelm Friedrich Hemprich.[2]

Geographic range

M. hemprichii is found in South America.[1]

Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized as being valid.[1]

Nota bene: A binomial authority or trinomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species or subspecies was originally described in a genus other than Micrurus.
